Abu Dhabi Marathon Returns on 12 December for Its 8th Edition
Running enthusiasts have another date to mark on their calendars as the 8th ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon returns to the capital on Saturday, 12 December 2026. Organised by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council in partnership with ADNOC, the annual event is set to welcome elite athletes, amateur runners and families for one of the UAE’s biggest community sporting celebrations.
With race categories designed for every fitness level, the marathon continues to promote health, wellbeing and active living while reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading destination for international sporting events.
A Race for Every Runner
Whether you’re aiming to complete your first race or chasing a personal best, participants can choose from four race distances:
- 42.2 km Marathon
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 2.5 km
The event welcomes runners of all ages and abilities, making it one of the region’s most inclusive sporting events. Registration for all race categories is now open.
Road to Race Day
The marathon experience begins well before December with two community events designed to help runners prepare for the main race.
- Al Dhannah Flat Out – 24 October 2026
- Al Ain Half Marathon – 7 November 2026
Participants can also visit the Marathon Village, opening from 7 December, where runners can collect race packs, explore partner activations and enjoy entertainment before race day.
