Trellis Health Launches in Dubai With Umm Suqeim Hospital and New Clinics Coming to JVC and Expo City
Dubai’s healthcare network is getting a new addition as Al Ghurair launches Trellis Health, a healthcare group that will initially operate a multi-speciality hospital in Umm Suqeim before expanding into other communities across the city.
The network begins with Trellis Hospital in Umm Suqeim, a JCI-accredited, 50-bed hospital offering more than 35 medical specialties.
Two additional Trellis Health clinics are expected to open in Jumeirah Village Circle (JVC) and Expo City Dubai by the end of 2026, with further expansion already planned.
Trellis Hospital Opens the Network in Umm Suqeim
Trellis Hospital will serve as the foundation of the new healthcare network.
Located in Umm Suqeim, the 50-bed multi-speciality hospital provides services across more than 35 specialties, including:
- Emergency care
- Obstetrics and gynaecology
- Paediatrics
- Orthopaedics
- Cardiology
- Gastroenterology
- Internal medicine
- General surgery
The hospital is JCI accredited, an international healthcare accreditation covering standards related to areas including patient safety and quality of care.
Al Ghurair says the existing hospital was selected as the starting point for Trellis Health because of its established clinical teams and connection with the surrounding community.
New Trellis Health Clinics Coming to JVC and Expo City
The healthcare group isn’t stopping with Umm Suqeim.
Trellis Health plans to open two clinics before the end of 2026, with locations confirmed for:
Jumeirah Village Circle (JVC)
Expo City Dubai
Both locations sit within growing residential areas of Dubai, giving the group an opportunity to bring healthcare services closer to communities as the city’s population expands.
Beyond these initial openings, Trellis Health says its longer-term expansion plans include another hospital and two additional clinics.
Details on their locations and opening dates have not yet been announced.
What Is Trellis Health’s ‘Connected Caring’ Approach?
Trellis Health is being developed around a healthcare model the company calls “Connected Caring.”
The concept focuses on coordinating different stages of a patient’s healthcare journey rather than treating each appointment or interaction as an isolated experience.
Its approach is based around four areas: creating one healthcare team around the patient, putting patients first, simplifying the overall experience through technology and maintaining a longer-term approach to care.
Technology will also play a role in making healthcare services easier to access and navigate.

Preparing for a Bigger Dubai
The expansion comes as Dubai prepares for significant population growth over the next decade and beyond.
Under the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, the city’s population is projected to reach 5.8 million by 2040, increasing demand for everything from housing and transport to schools and healthcare facilities.
The plan also provides for additional land dedicated to health and education infrastructure.
Trellis Health’s expansion strategy is intended to respond to that growth by developing healthcare facilities within established and emerging residential communities.
Al Ghurair Expands Into Healthcare
Trellis Health also represents an expansion into another major sector for Al Ghurair.
The UAE-based family business has operated across multiple industries for more than six decades, including sectors connected to food, mobility, housing and education.
Healthcare is now being positioned as another long-term part of that portfolio.
For Dubai residents, the more immediate development will be the growth of the Trellis network itself: beginning with a multi-speciality hospital in Umm Suqeim and expanding into JVC and Expo City before the end of the year.
