The UAE has added another global accolade to its growing list of travel achievements – and this time, it’s all about sun, sand and sea.
Saadiyat Beach in Abu Dhabi has officially been recognised as one of the world’s 50 best beaches for 2026, earning a spot on the prestigious global ranking and putting the capital’s coastline alongside some of the most celebrated beach destinations around the world.
Ranked 19th globally, Saadiyat Beach was also the only beach in the Middle East to make the list, which was compiled through votes from more than 1,000 travel professionals and experts.
But anyone who has spent a day on Saadiyat’s shores will understand why.
Stretching across eight kilometres of powder-soft white sand and turquoise waters, the beach feels worlds away from the city despite being just minutes from Abu Dhabi’s cultural district and luxury resorts. The destination has often been compared to tropical beach escapes thanks to its calm waters, natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere.
What makes Saadiyat even more special is that it’s not just a beautiful beach — it’s also one of the UAE’s most important protected coastal environments.
The area is known as a nesting site for critically endangered hawksbill turtles, while the surrounding waters form part of the Saadiyat Marine National Park, home to dolphins and diverse marine life.
The recognition comes at a time when Saadiyat Island continues to grow as one of Abu Dhabi’s most sought-after lifestyle and travel destinations, blending beach living with art, culture, luxury hospitality and nature conservation.
