Abu Dhabi to Host the First-Ever Euroleague Basketball SuperCup This September

Basketball fans have another major international sporting event to look forward to in Abu Dhabi. This September, the emirate will host the inaugural Euroleague Basketball SuperCup, bringing four of Europe’s biggest basketball clubs together for a two-day tournament at Etihad Arena, Yas Island.

As the official curtain-raiser to the European club basketball season, the competition marks another milestone in Abu Dhabi’s growing sporting calendar and builds on the success of hosting the EuroLeague Final Four earlier this year.

The First-Ever Euroleague Basketball SuperCup Comes to Abu Dhabi

Taking place on 18 and 19 September 2026, the inaugural tournament introduces a brand-new competition that will officially open the European club basketball season.

Hosted by the Department of Culture and Tourism-Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) in partnership with Euroleague Basketball, the SuperCup is expected to become an annual showcase featuring Europe’s elite basketball clubs while expanding the sport’s international reach.

Four Elite Clubs Set to Compete

Basketball fans can look forward to watching four powerhouse clubs battle it out for the first-ever Euroleague Basketball SuperCup title:

  • Olympiacos Piraeus-Reigning EuroLeague Champions
  • Fenerbahce Tarfin Istanbul-2025 EuroLeague Champions
  • Real Madrid – 2026 EuroLeague Finalists
  • Dubai Basketball– Representing the UAE

The tournament will follow the popular Final Four format across two action-packed days.

Saturday, 19 September

  • Third Place Playoff-6:00 PM (GST)
  • Euroleague Basketball SuperCup Final-9:00 PM (GST)

Tickets Are Now Available

Fans can already purchase two-day event packages, which include access to all four matches across both days.

Single-day tickets will become available from 31 August, offering the flexibility to attend either Friday’s semi-finals or Saturday’s final day.

Those looking for a premium experience can also choose from a range of VIP hospitality packages.
