Inside Sumwon Studios’ Billion-Dollar Vision as Dubai Becomes Its Global Home
Dubai’s reputation as a launchpad for globally scaling businesses continues to grow, particularly across industries where digital commerce, content, and technology increasingly overlap. The latest company reinforcing that shift is Sumwon Studios, which has officially positioned Dubai as its global headquarters as the business accelerates towards an ambitious $1 billion growth target.
The announcement comes during a major expansion phase for the digital-first fashion group, which reported reaching $300 million in revenue in 2025, just two years after being founded in Dubai in 2023. The company is now targeting $1 billion in global revenue by 2028, reflecting the rapid scale of digitally native retail brands operating across international markets.
Founded as a fashion-tech focused business, Sumwon Studios has expanded across Europe, North America, the GCC, and emerging markets, building a global workforce of more than 150 employees. While the business now operates internationally, Dubai remains central to its operations, strategy, and long-term expansion plans.

The company’s decision to establish its global headquarters in Dubai highlights the city’s growing role as more than just a regional business hub. Increasingly, global companies are using the UAE as a base for international expansion due to its geographic connectivity, infrastructure, talent ecosystem, and access to key global markets.
As part of this next chapter, Sumwon Studios is developing a new 120,000 sq ft headquarters in Dubai, which will function as the company’s core operational and creative hub. The facility will house operations, design, and content production teams under one roof, allowing the business to streamline product development, accelerate content creation, and strengthen operational control across its portfolio of brands.
The company is also preparing for deeper international expansion, including growth into markets such as India, while continuing to strengthen its footprint across Europe, North America, and the Middle East. Revenue distribution currently spans approximately 45% from Europe, 30% from North America, 10% from the GCC, and 10% across Asia and Latin America.
According to Founder and CEO Nitin Passi, Dubai has played a defining role in the company’s growth journey from the beginning.
“Dubai has been central to our journey from the beginning. Sumwon Studios was founded here, and the city continues to offer the connectivity, talent and pace we need to build and scale a global business,” he said.
Operating at the intersection of fashion and technology, Sumwon Studios is building a business model that uses real-time consumer data to shape product development and inventory decisions, reducing dependence on traditional forecasting methods while speeding up design-to-market timelines.
The expansion also aligns with the UAE’s wider ambitions to position itself as a global centre for innovation, digital economy growth, and creative industries. As more technology-led and digitally native businesses choose Dubai as their operational base, the city continues evolving into a hub not only for finance and tourism, but also for global-scale creative and digital enterprises.
Alongside its physical expansion, Sumwon Studios is also growing its workforce across technology, creative, and operational functions, further reinforcing Dubai’s role in the company’s long-term global strategy.
