UAE Sends $10 Million in Emergency Aid to Nepal Following Deadly Floods and Landslides
The UAE has dispatched an emergency relief mission to Nepal following devastating floods and landslides that have resulted in dozens of deaths, injuries and missing persons, while causing extensive damage across affected areas.
The humanitarian mission was sent under the directives of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with the UAE allocating US$10 million in assistance to support communities affected by the disaster.
Alongside financial assistance, two UAE aid aircraft have been dispatched carrying a combined 128 tonnes of food, shelter materials, essential supplies and power generators.
Two UAE Aid Aircraft Carry 128 Tonnes of Relief Supplies
The emergency response includes significant quantities of supplies intended to address immediate needs on the ground.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the first aircraft carried 83 tonnes of food supplies and shelter materials.
A second aircraft transported a further 45 tonnes of humanitarian assistance, including basic food items, essential supplies and power generators.
The aid forms part of the UAE’s efforts to provide immediate relief while also supporting Nepal’s early recovery and stability following the disaster.
UAE Search and Rescue Experts Join the Mission
The response extends beyond delivering humanitarian supplies.
A specialist UAE team has also travelled to Nepal, bringing together members of the Joint Operations Command, Dubai Police Search & Rescue Team and UAE Aid Agency.
The team includes specialists with expertise in disaster relief, medical evacuation and first aid. They will work alongside Nepalese authorities to strengthen the humanitarian response, provide urgent medical assistance to injured people and support ongoing search and rescue operations.
This combination of supplies and specialised personnel enables the mission to address both immediate humanitarian needs and operational challenges in disaster-affected communities.
Part of the UAE’s Wider Humanitarian Efforts in 2026
The Nepal relief mission forms part of a much broader UAE humanitarian response during 2026.
According to WAM, UAE humanitarian initiatives this year have already reached 16 countries across four continents.
The latest deployment to Nepal continues that approach by combining financial support, essential relief supplies and specialised personnel at a time when communities are dealing with the immediate consequences of flooding and landslides.
For Nepal, the US$10 million allocation and 128 tonnes of supplies are intended not only to help meet urgent needs but also to support the country’s recovery and provide essential necessities to affected communities as relief efforts continue.
