Chef’s Society Opens at City Centre Mirdif with 10 Culinary Concepts and Two MICHELIN Bib Gourmand Names
Dubai’s dining scene has a new culinary collective to explore. Chef’s Society is now fully open at City Centre Mirdif, bringing together 10 distinctive food and beverage concepts spanning Emirati, Indian, Cantonese, Levantine, Japanese, Italian and globally inspired flavours.
Developed by Majid Al Futtaim, the new dining destination puts chefs and their individual culinary stories at the heart of the experience, with a line-up that includes established Dubai favourites alongside entirely new concepts.
Among the biggest names are two restaurants recognised with MICHELIN Bib Gourmand distinctions: Bait Maryam by Chef Salam Daqqaq and REIF Japanese Kushiyaki by Chef Reif Othman.
10 Concepts, One Culinary Destination
Chef’s Society has been created as more than a conventional mall food hall. Each concept maintains its own identity, aesthetic and culinary approach, allowing diners to move between very different cuisines within the same destination.
Three brand-new concepts make their debut as part of the collective.
Anara, led by MasterChef India judge Chef Kunal Kapur, introduces crafted Indian cuisine, while Ying Ji Dim Sum by Chef Lin Deshan focuses on handcrafted dim sum and pulled noodles.
Slab by Chef Omar Rodrigues, meanwhile, takes inspiration from global street food, with seasonal ingredients playing an important role in its menu.
Together with the wider line-up, the concepts give visitors plenty of reasons to return rather than trying to experience Chef’s Society in a single visit.
Bait Maryam and REIF Bring Bib Gourmand Credentials
Two familiar names add further weight to the new dining destination.
Bait Maryam by Chef Salam Daqqaq brings its soulful approach to Levantine cuisine to City Centre Mirdif, while REIF Japanese Kushiyaki by Chef Reif Othman introduces its contemporary Japanese cooking through an open-kitchen format.
Both concepts have received MICHELIN Bib Gourmand recognition, a distinction associated with restaurants offering good-quality cooking at good value.
Their inclusion gives diners the opportunity to experience two established chef-led Dubai concepts alongside the newer names making their debut at Chef’s Society.

From Roman Pizza to Emirati Cuisine
The culinary journey continues with Bonci, where Chef Gabriele Bonci brings traditional Roman-style pizza counters to the collective.
For Emirati flavours, ATHAR By the Qlab, represented by Chef Nabhan Abdulrahman, offers an all-day dining experience combining local cuisine with speciality coffee.
And Chef’s Society isn’t limited to full meals.
The Matcha Tokyo, My Cookie Dough and Beurre complete the line-up with beverages, desserts and artisanal patisserie, making the destination equally suited to a coffee stop, sweet treat or leisurely meal.
Putting the Chefs Behind the Food Centre Stage
One of the defining ideas behind Chef’s Society is its emphasis on the people creating the food.
Rather than simply grouping restaurants together, the collective has been designed to showcase the individual identities, backgrounds and culinary approaches of the chefs involved.
Khalifa Bin Braik, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Asset Management, describes the concept as part of a broader shift towards transforming malls into social destinations where food, culture and community experiences sit alongside traditional retail.
It also reflects the increasingly diverse character of Dubai’s dining scene, where established international names sit comfortably alongside homegrown restaurants, regional culinary traditions and chef-driven concepts.
A New Food Destination at City Centre Mirdif
With all 10 concepts now operational, Chef’s Society gives families, groups of friends and food enthusiasts another reason to visit City Centre Mirdif beyond shopping.
Its biggest advantage may be variety. A visit can move from handcrafted Cantonese dim sum and Indian cuisine to Levantine favourites, Japanese kushiyaki, Emirati dishes and Roman pizza-before finishing with matcha, cookie dough or patisserie.
For Dubai diners who enjoy discovering chef-led concepts without travelling across the city, Chef’s Society brings a notably diverse collection together under one roof.
