Emirati Entrepreneur Qadreya Al Awadhi Named UAE Youth Ambassador of Agriculture
Emirati entrepreneur Qadreya Al Awadhi, Founder and CEO of homegrown baby and children’s food brand Bumblebee Food, has been selected as a Youth Ambassador of Agriculture, taking her passion for local farming and sustainable food from a family tradition to a national platform.
The initiative, led by the UAE Federal Youth Authority in collaboration with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE), brings young leaders into conversations around the future of agriculture and food systems in the UAE.
For Al Awadhi, the appointment has a particularly personal connection. Long before “Farm to Freezer” became the philosophy behind Bumblebee Food, she grew up learning about food production on her family’s local farm-an experience that would eventually influence the business she created.
Supporting the UAE’s Food Security Ambitions
In her new role, Al Awadhi will work alongside government and private-sector stakeholders on initiatives supporting the country’s national food-security objectives.
Her involvement will include youth-led research, community awareness campaigns, specialised educational sessions and field tours, with an emphasis on encouraging greater understanding of modern and sustainable farming practices.
The ambassadorship will also provide a platform to advocate for agricultural innovations such as vertical farming and more localised supply chains.
For a country where climate and natural-resource constraints make agricultural innovation particularly important, connecting younger generations with farming, technology and entrepreneurship can play an increasingly significant role in building more resilient food systems.

From the Family Farm to Bumblebee Food
That connection between agriculture and the food people ultimately eat is already central to Bumblebee Food.
Under Al Awadhi’s leadership, the UAE-born brand has developed its “Farm to Freezer” philosophy, prioritising local produce and clean-label manufacturing for its range of children’s foods.
Its snap-frozen meals are created without added sugars, added salts or artificial preservatives, with the range spanning purées, finger foods and functional snacks.
Al Awadhi now plans to use the knowledge and relationships developed through her ambassador role to further integrate sustainable local agricultural practices into Bumblebee’s operations.
That could include expanding relationships with UAE farms and exploring how agricultural technologies can be incorporated into the company’s supply chain and manufacturing approach.
Bringing Agricultural Heritage and Innovation Together
For Al Awadhi, the new role is also about finding common ground between the UAE’s agricultural heritage and the technologies shaping its future.
“Healthy children and a healthy planet go hand-in-hand,” she said while discussing the appointment, describing the ambassadorship as an opportunity to further incorporate sustainable and local agricultural practices into Bumblebee’s business model.
It’s an approach that connects several increasingly important conversations in the UAE: where food comes from, how it is produced, how much can be sourced locally and how businesses can make sustainability part of their everyday operations rather than a separate initiative.

Encouraging the Next Generation to Think Differently About Food
There is also a wider educational element to the appointment.
By participating in community programmes, field visits and youth-led initiatives, Al Awadhi will have the opportunity to help younger people better understand the journey between agriculture and the food that ultimately reaches their tables.
Her own story provides a fitting example of that connection-from learning about farming firsthand as a child to building a homegrown food company and now contributing to national conversations around agriculture and food security.
The appointment also demonstrates how Emirati entrepreneurs and private businesses can contribute to wider national sustainability objectives, particularly when their commercial models already intersect with local agriculture.
For Al Awadhi and Bumblebee Food, “Farm to Freezer” is therefore evolving beyond a brand philosophy. Through her new role, it becomes part of a bigger conversation about how the UAE can nourish its next generation while supporting local farmers, agricultural innovation and a more sustainable food system.
