Dubai Curl Festival Launches This October as the UAE and GCC’s First Family Curly-Hair Festival
Dubai’s curly-haired community is getting a festival dedicated entirely to curls. On Saturday, 10 October 2026, Oh My Knots will launch the inaugural Dubai Curl Festival, bringing families, hair experts and beauty and lifestyle brands together for a full day of education, styling advice and curl celebration.
Billed as the first family curly-hair festival of its kind in the UAE and wider GCC, the event has been designed specifically around the realities of maintaining curly, coily and kinky hair in the Gulf-including challenges such as hard water, heat and humidity.

One of the ideas behind Dubai Curl Festival is that much of the curly-hair advice available online isn’t necessarily created with Gulf conditions in mind.
Research conducted by Oh My Knots found that 69% of its community are actively looking for UAE-specific product recommendations, while 77% want simpler routines involving fewer products, rather than complicated multi-step regimens.
The festival aims to bring that practical information into one physical space, giving visitors an opportunity to speak directly with specialists, watch demonstrations and discover products suited to their individual curl patterns and routines.
From Live Styling Demonstrations to Expert Education
Dubai Curl Festival is intended to be as educational as it is celebratory.
Throughout the day, visitors can expect live demonstrations and styling talks, alongside expert-led education covering curly-hair care and techniques.
Brand demonstrations and interactive activations will provide opportunities to explore products in person, while participating hair brands will also offer samples and goodie bags.
Wellness sessions will form part of the wider programme, making the festival a broader lifestyle experience rather than simply a beauty exhibition.

The Community Behind Dubai Curl Festival
Oh My Knots was founded in Dubai by Gertrud Mackenzie as a community-led platform offering practical and locally relevant information for people with curly, coily and kinky hair.
According to Mackenzie, the idea for the festival grew directly from what the community had been asking for-a physical space where people could access experts and brands while connecting with others navigating similar hair-care challenges in the Gulf.
