Umm Al Emarat Park Honours Four Inspiring Emirati Women for Their Impact on the Community
Held in celebration of Emirati Women’s Day 2026, under this year’s theme “We Emerge Stronger and Better,” the initiative recognised women making a difference across fields including space research, support for People of Determination, family care and humanitarian service.
The four women selected will receive the park’s Gold Loyalty Card, giving them unlimited access to Umm Al Emarat Park for a full year alongside additional benefits.
A Community-Led Celebration of Emirati Women
Rather than selecting the honourees internally, Umm Al Emarat Park invited members of the community to help uncover inspiring stories.
The initiative launched at the beginning of August, asking residents to nominate an Emirati woman from their neighbourhood, share her story and explain the contribution or positive impact she has made.
The resulting nominations highlighted women whose influence can be seen not only through academic and professional achievements, but also through everyday acts of care, resilience and service.
Here are the four women recognised through the initiative.
Hind Ibrahim: Turning a Mother’s Challenges into Strength
Hind Ibrahim was recognised for her perseverance in balancing her professional responsibilities with caring for her son with special needs.
Her story centres on the realities of managing work, family and community responsibilities while ensuring her son receives the support he needs.
Rather than allowing those challenges to define her family negatively, Hind has transformed her experiences into a source of strength and inspiration, providing an example for other mothers and families navigating similar circumstances.
Mariam Al Hammadi: Taking Emirati Ambition into Space Research
Representing the UAE’s next generation of women in science, Mariam Al Hammadi was recognised for her achievements in education and spacecraft propulsion research.
During her university studies, she achieved the highest GPA in her master’s programme at Khalifa University.
She has since continued her professional and research journey in spacecraft propulsion, contributing to a project connected with the UAE’s mission to explore the asteroid belt.
Her story reflects the expanding role of Emirati women in science and research, as well as the country’s wider ambitions in space exploration and advanced technology.
Dr. Nadia Khalil Al Sayegh: Four Decades Supporting People of Determination
Dr. Nadia Khalil Al Sayegh has dedicated more than four decades to supporting and empowering People of Determination.
She is the founder of Senses Residential and Day Care for Special Needs, a Dubai-based centre providing care and rehabilitation.
Her recognition reflects the long-term nature of humanitarian service. Rather than a single achievement, her contribution represents decades of work designed to improve the lives of individuals and their families while creating a wider impact within the community.
Salha Al Remithi: A Story of Sisterhood and Selfless Care
Sometimes the most powerful examples of giving begin at home.
Salha Al Remithi was nominated by her sister in recognition of the extraordinary support she provided during her sister’s cancer treatment.
Salha remained by her side during her hospital stay and even undertook nursing courses so she could help administer injections and operate the medical equipment required during her treatment.
Her story became an example of family unity, loyalty and selflessness, demonstrating how deeply personal acts of care can embody the wider values of generosity and responsibility celebrated within Emirati society.
Winners Receive Umm Al Emarat Park’s Gold Loyalty Card
As part of the recognition, each winner receives a Gold Loyalty Card, providing unlimited access to Umm Al Emarat Park for one year.
The card also includes free admission for two children under the age of 12, alongside benefits and offers such as 15% discounts at selected park outlets and experiences.
Through the initiative, Umm Al Emarat Park continues to position itself not only as one of Abu Dhabi’s family and leisure destinations, but also as a community space where local stories and achievements can be recognised and shared.
From a mother advocating for her child and a scientist contributing to the UAE’s space ambitions to decades of humanitarian service and a sister’s unwavering support, the four stories offer very different interpretations of achievement.
What connects them is something much simpler: using individual strength, knowledge and compassion to make someone else’s life better.
