GAC GS7 PHEV Launches in the UAE with 501 HP, 1,020 KM Range and AED 159,900 Price Tag
The UAE’s plug-in hybrid SUV market has a new contender. Gargash Motors, the official UAE distributor of GAC Motor, has launched the GAC GS7 PHEV, combining powerful electrified performance, long-distance capability and a technology-packed premium cabin.
Unveiled at the GAC Deira showroom in Dubai under the campaign “Seeing is Believing,” the full-size five-seat SUV arrives with 501 hp, up to 1,020 km of combined range and a starting price of AED 159,900.
The GS7 PHEV is now available across Gargash GAC Motor showrooms in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah.
501 HP and Up to 1,020 KM of Combined Range
At the heart of the GS7 PHEV is GAC’s third-generation hybrid system, combining a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with a 36.3 kWh Magazine LFP battery.
Together, the system produces 501 hp, delivered to all four wheels through Intelligent Electric AWD and a 6-in-1 high-performance transmission.
Despite its full-size SUV proportions, performance is suitably quick: the GS7 PHEV accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 5.8 seconds and has a top speed of 185 km/h.
Its headline combined driving range reaches up to 1,020 km under CLTC testing. With the battery depleted, fuel consumption is rated at 6.5 litres per 100 km under WLTC testing, supported by a 50-litre fuel tank.
Drivers can switch between Comfort, Sport, Eco and Off-road modes, depending on the journey and driving conditions.
A Full-Size SUV with a Premium Five-Seat Cabin
Measuring 4,900 mm long, 1,950 mm wide and 1,780 mm high, with a 2,880 mm wheelbase, the GS7 PHEV has the proportions of a substantial family SUV.
Exterior details include 20-inch wheels, AI headlights, a Skyline intelligent front light strip, hidden electric door handles and soft-close doors.
There’s also a memory-function electric tailgate and heated, power-folding mirrors.
Inside, GAC has opted for a five-seat configuration with an emphasis on passenger space and comfort rather than squeezing in an additional third row.
Nappa leather seats, soft headrests and a suede roof lining give the interior a more premium finish, while four seats can be equipped with ventilation and massage functions.
Rear Passengers Get the First-Class Treatment
Particular attention has been given to the second row.
The rear-seat backrests can recline to 137 degrees and include a memory function, creating a more relaxed seating position for longer journeys.
A panoramic sunroof with an electric sunshade helps open up the cabin, while RGB smart surround ambient lightingchanges the atmosphere after dark.
For UAE drivers who regularly undertake longer journeys between emirates-or road trips further afield-the combination of rear-seat comfort and a long hybrid driving range could be one of the GS7 PHEV’s strongest propositions.
Three Displays and Four-Zone Voice Recognition
Technology dominates the dashboard.
The driver gets a 27-inch high-definition head-up display, complemented by a 15.6-inch LCD central control screen and 8.88-inch full-LCD instrument cluster.
The GS7 PHEV also features four-zone voice recognition, allowing occupants in different areas of the cabin to use voice commands to operate selected vehicle functions.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, while a 22-speaker, 1,640W high-fidelity audio systemhandles entertainment.
Owners can also use the GAC Mobile Application to access selected vehicle functions remotely from their smartphones.
A Quieter Cabin for Electric Driving
GAC has also focused on acoustic comfort, particularly important in a vehicle capable of quieter electric driving.
The GS7 PHEV uses dual-pane acoustic glass with an acoustic interlayer to reduce outside wind and road noise.
Combined with reduced powertrain noise while driving electrically, the technology is intended to create a calmer cabin whether the SUV is navigating Dubai traffic or cruising at highway speeds.
Safety Includes 10 Airbags and a Transparent Chassis View
The GS7 PHEV comes with an extensive suite of active and passive safety systems.
There are 10 airbags, covering front, front-side, driver-knee, curtain, second-row and twin-chamber far-side positions.
Driver-assistance technologies include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centering Control, Lane Departure Warning and Prevention, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Collision Warning and Emergency Lane Keeping Assist.
A 360-degree HD panoramic camera with transparent chassis view provides additional visibility when manoeuvring, while Fusion Automatic Parking Assist is designed to make tighter parking situations easier.
Electronic Stability Control and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System are also included.
GAC Expands Its Electrified Line-Up in the UAE
The launch reflects GAC’s wider push into electrified vehicles in the Middle East while retaining the flexibility of a combustion engine for longer journeys.
Mark Zhang, Vice President, Middle East Region & General Manager of GAC Middle East, described the GS7 PHEV as an important step in the evolution of the company’s electrified portfolio, combining electric driving for everyday use with combustion-engine flexibility for longer trips.
For Gargash Motors, meanwhile, the “Seeing is Believing” campaign is centred on encouraging customers to experience the SUV’s space, technology and refinement rather than evaluating it purely through its specification sheet.
