Skyscanner Introduces New AI Travel Tools to Make Trip Planning Smarter
Planning your next holiday could soon become a lot easier. Skyscanner has unveiled a range of new AI-powered tools and updated features designed to help travellers discover destinations, compare options and plan trips with greater confidence.
Used by more than 160 million travellers each month, the global travel platform continues to expand its app and website with features that make booking flights, accommodation and road trips more personalised and budget-friendly.
One of the biggest additions is Explore with AI, a beta feature that allows travellers to search using natural language instead of fixed destinations and dates. Rather than entering a specific city, users can type requests such as “help me find cheap flights to Japan in December” and receive tailored destination suggestions based on price, weather, travel style and flight duration.
The tool also highlights useful insights, such as which months are typically cheaper to travel or destinations that best match a traveller’s preferences, helping users discover options they may not have considered.
For those planning to explore by car, Skyscanner has also introduced a new Road Trip Planner. Travellers simply enter their pick-up location, travel dates and preferred journey style-whether that’s a scenic drive, cultural adventure, relaxing getaway or the fastest route-and the AI creates a personalised itinerary complete with suggested stops, attractions and recommended car hire options.
Alongside its new AI features, Skyscanner has also expanded several existing traveller favourites:
- DROPS now highlights even more discounted flight deals, surfacing flights that have dropped by at least 20% in price over the previous seven days.
- Flight Tracker has been enhanced with real-time information including departure and arrival updates, gate numbers, terminals and baggage belt details.
- Stays now offers access to more than five million accommodation options worldwide, ranging from hostels and luxury hotels to campsites, capsule hotels and unique stays.
As AI continues to reshape how people travel, Skyscanner’s latest updates aim to simplify every stage of the journey-from finding inspiration to booking with confidence and exploring more once you arrive.
