Etihad Airways Launches Daily Non-Stop Flights Between Abu Dhabi and Tashkent
Travelling between the UAE and Uzbekistan has just become much easier. Etihad Airways has officially launched its inaugural flight to Tashkent, introducing the airline’s first-ever route to Uzbekistan and further expanding Abu Dhabi’s global connectivity.
The new daily non-stop service strengthens Abu Dhabi’s position as an international aviation hub while opening a direct gateway between the UAE and one of Central Asia’s fastest-growing travel markets. It also creates new opportunities for tourism, business and cultural exchange between the two countries.
Connecting Uzbekistan to Etihad’s Expanding Global Network
With the new route, travellers from Uzbekistan can now connect seamlessly through Abu Dhabi to destinations across the GCC, Europe, the Levant and North America via Etihad’s expanding international network.
The launch is further supported by Etihad’s recently introduced codeshare partnership with Uzbekistan Airways, allowing passengers to travel beyond Tashkent to eight additional destinations across Uzbekistan, including Samarkand, Bukhara, Fergana, Namangan, Andijan, Nukus, Termez and Urgench, alongside selected international routes operated by Uzbekistan Airways.
Showcasing Abu Dhabi to New Visitors
The direct connection also makes it easier for visitors from Uzbekistan to experience Abu Dhabi’s diverse attractions.
From the architectural beauty of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque to the cultural experiences of Saadiyat Island and the entertainment offerings of Yas Island, the emirate continues to strengthen its position as a year-round destination for leisure, business and luxury travel.
Supporting Tourism and Business Growth
Commenting on the inaugural flight, Frank Meyer, Chief Digital Officer at Etihad Airways, described the launch as an important milestone in the airline’s continued network expansion.
He noted that Uzbekistan represents one of Central Asia’s most dynamic and fast-growing markets, with growing tourism potential, strong economic significance and rich cultural heritage. The new daily service is expected to support stronger tourism flows, improved business connectivity and easier access to international markets for travellers in both directions.
As Etihad continues to expand its global network, the addition of Tashkent further reinforces Abu Dhabi’s role as a strategic gateway connecting traveller’s across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
