CHERY’s Smart Self-Parking Technology Is coming to the UAE to make Mall Parking easier

Finding a parking space at a busy shopping mall, squeezing into tight bays or walking across a sun-soaked car park in the middle of summer could soon become much easier. CHERY has confirmed plans to introduce its new Super Intelligent Parking (SIP) technology to the UAE, bringing advanced autonomous parking and vehicle summon capabilities to local drivers as part of its growing smart mobility ecosystem.

The announcement follows CHERY’s first global User Co-Creation event for the technology, where the company showcased how its next-generation parking system is designed to make everyday journeys more convenient through intelligent automation.

Your Car Parks Itself-and Can Even Come to You

One of the headline features is One Tap Summon, allowing drivers to call their vehicle directly from a smartphone app. Instead of walking through a large car park to find the vehicle, users can simply select a designated pick-up point and the car will autonomously leave its parking space and drive to them.

The technology also works in reverse. Drivers can step out at the entrance to a parking facility while the vehicle independently searches for a suitable parking space, navigates the car park and parks itself without driver input.

Together, these features create what CHERY describes as a “One Tap Departure, One Step Home” experience, reducing the stress often associated with parking in busy urban environments.

Designed Around Everyday Life in the UAE

CHERY believes the technology is particularly well suited to the needs of UAE drivers, where large shopping malls, underground car parks and extreme summer temperatures make parking a frequent challenge.

At destinations such as Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates, drivers can often spend considerable time searching for available parking during weekends and public holidays. CHERY’s intelligent parking system is designed to automatically cruise through parking areas, identify vacant spaces and complete the parking manoeuvre without driver intervention.

During the UAE’s summer months, when temperatures regularly exceed 45°C, the vehicle summon feature also allows drivers to remain inside air-conditioned spaces while their vehicle drives to a designated collection point, helping avoid long walks across hot outdoor parking areas.

The technology also aims to simplify parking in the narrow spaces commonly found in residential buildings and commercial car parks, allowing passengers to exit the vehicle before it completes the parking manoeuvre independently.

For families travelling with children or elderly relatives, the smart summon function also makes pick-ups and drop-offs more convenient by bringing the vehicle directly to the user rather than requiring everyone to walk back through a busy car park.

Powered by Advanced AI and Autonomous Driving Technology

Behind the scenes, CHERY’s Super Intelligent Parking system combines LiDAR, multiple cameras, high-definition mapping and real-time positioning technologies to understand its surroundings.

Using advanced AI powered by Transformer-based Bird’s Eye View (BEV) perception algorithms and end-to-end neural network models, the vehicle can identify parking spaces, detect pedestrians and moving vehicles, avoid obstacles and respond safely to changing conditions inside complex parking facilities.

The company says the system is capable of navigating across multiple floors in enclosed parking garages by independently planning its route between levels.

Built for Car Parks, Not Public Roads

During the launch event, CHERY executives also answered questions from users regarding the system’s capabilities.

The company confirmed that while the technology supports autonomous driving across different levels within enclosed parking facilities, it is designed exclusively for use inside private and enclosed parking areas and cannot be activated on public roads.

Coming Soon to the UAE

While CHERY has not yet confirmed a local launch date, the company says the UAE is among the markets planned for the rollout of its Super Intelligent Parking technology as it continues expanding its intelligent mobility offering globally.

The initiative also reflects CHERY’s localisation strategy of developing technology around the needs of individual markets, with future user co-creation programmes planned in the UAE to help refine smart driving features based on local customer feedback.
