MY GUIDE TO EXPERIENCING DUBAI DURING RAMADAN 2026

MY GUIDE TO EXPERIENCING DUBAI DURING RAMADAN 2026

Ramadan in Dubai, expected to fall between 19 February and 18 March 2026, is a time when the city gently slows down by day and comes alive after sunset. Evenings feel quieter, warmer, and more intentional as they get shaped by prayer, togetherness, and a beautiful rhythm of shared meals, cultural moments, and long post-iftar walks under glowing lights.

Below is a curated list of experiences that I am looking forward to this Ramadan in Dubai:

1. SIGNATURE CITYWIDE RAMADAN EVENTS

Dubai’s official Ramadan calendar brings together cultural installations, shows, food festivals, and community experiences across the city.

Ramadan Street Food Festival

A lively post-Iftar street food experience with vendors serving regional favourites and local flavours at Sheikh Hamdan Colony (Karama). Expect a buzzing atmosphere with small food stalls, nostalgic street dishes, and family-friendly entertainment.

Ramadan by the Bay (Dubai Festival City)

Drone shows, Ramadan markets, live performances, lantern parades and communal dining by the waterfront every evening.

Ramadan Drone Shows & Fireworks

Nightly drone light performances and fireworks at Al Seef and Dubai Creek illuminate the skies with Ramadan-themed visuals.

Ramadan Reflections (Atyaf Ramadaniyah)

Cultural and visual installations across cities like Al Seef and Dubai Festival City Mall designed for reflection and artistic storytelling.

Ramadan District at Jumeirah Emirates Towers

One of Dubai’s most anticipated Ramadan pop-ups, Ramadan District blends design markets, artisanal brands, food concepts, and interactive workshops. It’s a lovely place to explore contemporary Emirati creativity.

2. Cultural & Community centered

Ramadan Majlis Experiences

Modern and traditional majlis experiences to gather, dine, and enjoy Emirati culture:

  • Jumeirah Emirates Towers Ramadan Majlis — traditional coffee rituals, live Oud music and Emirati heritage.
  • Majlis Under the Stars at Jumeirah Al Naseem — beachfront communal dining and music.
  • Asateer Ramadan Tent at Atlantis, The Palm — large-scale tent with Iftar/Suhoor gatherings.

Hai Ramadan at Expo City, Dubai

Family-friendly cultural programme that blends storytelling with Ramadan traditions and community engagement.

Heritage Nights at Al Seef:

Traditional Emirati storytelling, calligraphy demonstrations, oud performances and cultural showcases bring Dubai’s heritage district to life during Ramadan evenings.

3. Iftar & Suhoor Experiences (Food & Culinary)
Dubai’s Ramadan cuisine offerings are some of the best ways to taste local flavours and celebrate the sunset:

Best Iftars Around the City

Hotel buffets, outdoor waterfront spreads, and themed set menus for post-fast dinners:

  • Nightly iftars at DIFC restaurants, The Ritz-Carlton, Vida Creek Harbour, Palm Jumeirah beach clubs, Dubai Creek Harbour dining spots.

Almost every café and restaurant introduces a curated Iftar or Suhoor menu during the month.

Ramadan Nights at J1 Beach

Dubai’s newest beach destination J1 Beach transforms into a relaxed evening dining destination during Ramadan, with restaurants offering special iftar menus and late-night gatherings by the sea.

4. Shows, Art & Entertainment

Fireworks & Light Shows

Fireworks at Al Seef and Dubai Creek create magical nights throughout Ramadan.

Cultural Performances at Dubai Global Village

Season 30 of Global Village — running throughout Ramadan — features cultural pavilions, live cultural shows, performances, and shopping after sunset.
(Note: Global Village stays open evening-late night during Ramadan.)

Ramadan Programmes at Alserkal Avenue

Dubai’s creative district hosts Ramadan-themed exhibitions, film screenings, night art walks and cultural talks throughout the month.

5. Ramadan Markets & Community Festivals

Ramadan Souq in Deira

A vibrant traditional market celebrating Emirati culture with live performances and crafts (runs ahead of Ramadan into the month).

Themed Decor & Mall Activations

Themed décor, light cultural activities, and communal gathering spaces at popular lifestyle destinations like City Walk, City Centre Mirdif, and The Beach, JBR.

Shopping Promotions — Season of Wulfa

A citywide retail and cultural activation that blends Hag Al Leila, Ramadan, and Eid celebrations through interactive promotions.

6. Leisure & Unique Ramadan Activities

Post-Iftar Hiking & Nature Experiences

A growing trend where residents trek and breakfast amidst deserts or Hajar Mountain settings — blending wellness with community bonding.

Night Walks at Dubai Creek & Old Dubai

Strolling through Al Fahidi Historical District, Al Seef, and Deira Souks after Iftar is one of the most peaceful ways to experience Ramadan atmosphere in the city.

Cultural Nights & Workshops

Look out for pottery painting, henna stations, Arabic coffee tasting, and kid’s workshops at evening markets and festival plazas.

Practical Tips for Visitors During Ramadan

  • Respect fasting hours: Avoid eating/drinking in public during daytime fasting hours (sunrise to sunset).
  • Evening experiences: Most cultural events, markets, shows, and restaurant activities begin after Iftar (sunset) and run until late night.
  • Cultural timing: Ramadan start is expected on Feb 19, 2026, with Eid Al Fitr around Mar 20 (depending on moon sighting).
  • Dress modestly: Especially during visits to mosques or public cultural events.

Social With Shefali is where I open up about the things that inspire me, the practices that keep me grounded, and the experiences that make life feel a little more beautiful. I’m not here to be perfect, polished, or performative. I’m here to be real. To remind myself (and maybe you too) that balance, joy, and chosen connections are worth making space for.
