Rather than taking a conventional dental clinic and making it more child-friendly, Sunshine Land has designed its environment specifically around how younger patients experience a dental visit.
At its heart are four treatment rooms themed around original characters-Bon-Bon, Katty, Rory and Coco.
The characters aren’t simply decorative. Each helps children learn one of four foundations for maintaining a healthy mouth: brushing twice daily, flossing every day, attending regular dental appointments and making healthy food choices.
By connecting these habits with stories and characters, the clinic aims to make dental education easier for children to understand and remember once they return home.

Sunshine Land also includes a dedicated sensory room, designed to provide a more adaptable and calming environment for children of determination and youngsters with sensory sensitivities.

Dr. Yasmin Kottait brings more than 20 years of experience to the new clinic, alongside a background in psychology.
Her career has also included international lecturing across the UAE, US, UK, Egypt, Oman and Bahrain, with Sunshine Land becoming the third clinic she has built from the ground up.
Her approach looks beyond individual dental treatments to consider areas including airway health, oral development and behaviour, as well as the childhood habits that can influence longer-term wellbeing.
As both a pediatric dentist and mother, Dr. Kottait says her understanding of children’s dental anxiety also comes from recognising the experience from the parent’s perspective.
That thinking ultimately shapes Sunshine Land’s philosophy: making children feel secure and understood isn’t treated as an extra element of care but as part of the treatment itself.
