The soft drinks aisle in the UAE has a new arrival, and it’s rethinking what soda can be. HalaPop, the Middle East’s first prebiotic soda, has officially launched in the UAE, offering a refreshing alternative for anyone looking to enjoy a fizzy drink without compromising on their wellness goals.

Created in Dubai by entrepreneurs Karim Jalloul and Walid Antabli, the homegrown brand was born from a simple idea: soda should taste just as satisfying as the classics while offering real nutritional benefits. The result is a range of better-for-you soft drinks that combine bold flavours with ingredients designed to support gut health.

HalaPop debuts with five flavours-Pomegranate Hibiscus, Strawberry Vanilla, Tangerine, Ginger Lemon and Cherry Cola-each made with 15% real fruit juice, 6g of prebiotic fibre, no added sugar and just 29 calories per can. The drinks are also free from preservatives, artificial colours, flavours and sweeteners, making them a lighter everyday alternative to traditional soft drinks.

The launch reflects a growing shift in consumer habits, with more people choosing products that support their overall wellbeing without sacrificing flavour. As conversations around gut health continue to gain momentum, HalaPop is introducing an entirely new category to the regional beverage market by combining functional ingredients with familiar soda flavours.

The response has been swift. The brand sold out its initial launch stock, exceeded early sales forecasts and quickly became the number one bestselling soda on Amazon UAE. It has also secured Emirates Snack Foods (ESF) as its official UAE distributor and raised more than US$1 million in funding to support its expansion.

Priced at under AED 10 per can, HalaPop is already available across several online platforms including Amazon UAE, Noon, Noon Minutes, Careem, Talabat, Calo, Joga and Fit Republik, as well as selected premium retail and wellness destinations. The brand is also expanding into Spinneys, Carrefour and additional quick-commerce platforms as part of a wider UAE rollout before entering Saudi Arabia and other GCC markets over the coming months.

Beyond retail shelves, HalaPop is also building lifestyle collaborations with well-known brands. One of its first partnerships is a limited-edition can design with Benefit Cosmetics, while another collaboration with Pret A Manger brings the gut-friendly soda to lunchtime customers looking for a lighter beverage option. More partnerships across the beauty, wellness and food sectors are expected to follow.

As the brand continues to grow, HalaPop is aiming to prove that innovative consumer products can be created and scaled from the region itself. By combining functional nutrition with everyday convenience, the UAE-made beverage is introducing a fresh take on soft drinks—one that prioritises both flavour and wellbeing.
